What Marvel movies and shows will be in Phase VI of the MCU?

This past weekend, Marvel Studios rocked the house at San Diego Comic-Con, delivering plenty of much-anticipated announcements in Hall H including the full Stage 5 lineup and more. Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios took the time to reveal that stages 4, 5 and 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now have an official name, The Multiverse Saga. Feige also announced the existence of films that would make up Phase 6 with the final film from the saga confirmed as none other than Avengers: Secret Wars. Although these were the only confirmed titles for Phase 6, Marvel didn’t tease about release dates for everything else, so it made us wonder: What Marvel movies and shows will be in Phase 6 of the MCU?

In addition to the three feature films they announced (Fantastic Four on November 8, 2024; Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on May 2, 2025; and Avengers: Secret Wars on November 7, 2025), Marvel has confirmed upcoming projects in these windows and on these specific dates: Two titles fall 2024, winter 2024 release, feature film February 14, 2025, two spring 2025 release, summer 2025 release, and feature film July 25, 2025.

So what will fill these dates? Given the name “The Multiverse Saga” and who it seems will need to be played by several titles in Avengers: Secret Wars, we’ve got some guesses. Let’s break it down with affirmations and predictions below!

Fall 2024: Armor Wars Series (Predict)

It’s been confirmed that the Don Cheadle-starring series is still in the works, but its absence from the Phase 5 lineup has many fans wondering. Perhaps the most likely answer is that it is only on the list of shows that will appear in Phase 6, and we think it will be the first. We’d also like to make another guess, which is that the reason Armor Wars came out so late is that Cheadle’s character will be revealed to be Skrull in Secret Invasion. A series that focuses on his character should come next anyway, but his place right after Thunderbolts makes a lot of sense, too.

November 8, 2024: Fantastic Four (Confirmed)

Kevin Feige has definitively confirmed that the MCU reboot of the Fantastic Four will be released in November 2024, the first movie in Phase 6 and the beginning of the path to Secret Wars. This movie will be necessary to make it to the final movie of The Multiverse Saga where the first Marvels family plays a major role in that story.

February 14, 2025: Top Squadron (predict)

Swarm-Supreme -141252.jpg

The structure of most films in these latter stages of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is mostly a sequel with the start of two new “franchises”. Phase 5 for example only has Blade and Thunderbolts as its “new” movies, while the other four titles are all sequels. We assume Phase 6 will do the same, and we’re guessing Marvel will roll the dice on the Squadron Supreme in the February slot.

One of the things Marvel Studios can do to truly build the path to Secret Wars is to put the stories on other grounds. They can do this by giving us a Squadron Supreme, naturally focusing on Hyperion, and making audiences think it’s set in the MCU “616” universe, only to pull the rug out from under us and show a world devastated by the incursion, Hyperion’s sole survivor.

Disney+’s Wakanda-centric series has been confirmed, although no official word has been announced on what will be announced. with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever With it arriving in November, there will be some space between the movie and whatever that TV show is, but Marvel fans will undoubtedly want an update on what’s happening in the kingdom before secret wars Started. Don’t forget that Jonathan Hickman’s “New Avengers” saw the first incursion into Earth 616 in Wakanda.

Spring 2025: Young Avengers (Expectation)

Marvel Studios is carefully working to lay the groundwork for Young Avengers to make their debut, introduce most of the main characters in other shows and impress with their arrival in some upcoming projects. Billy and Tommy are introduced at WandaVision, Kate Bishop made her debut as Hawkeye in her co-starring series with Jeremy Renner, America Chavez arrives in our world as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Cassie Lang will officially fit into the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. It would make sense for these heroes to meet together at the end of Phase 6, not only because of the secret wars but because of what’s going to happen next…

May 2, 2025: Avengers: Kang Dynasty (confirmed)

The Avengers Kang Dynasty. jpg

The summer of 2025 will begin with Avengers 5, subtitled The Kang Dynasty, slated to be directed by Destin Daniel Creighton. What isn’t clear about the movie is… who will be part of the Earth’s greatest heroes in this movie? One guess is that Captain Marvel and Hulk continued the team, as seen at the end of Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings. We’ll guess the rest of the list will include Shang-Chi himself, as well as Wong and Sam Wilson/Captain America, and possibly some Young Avengers newcomers as well.

Summer 2025: Ghost Rider Series (Prediction)

Marvel seems to be very keen on the return of Ghost Rider, and it seems to be exactly the type of character they’d rather put on Disney+ than gamble on the big screen premiere. Before the Secret War, which could well see something happen like the return of Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze, it seems like a great idea to get the MCU version of Spirit of Vengeance in viewers’ minds. Especially because of what we think comes next…

Post-credit scene for Doctor Strange in a multiverse of madness The seed for Charlize Theron is planted as Clea and is recruited by Stephen Strange to help her repair the incursion. So far the incursions mentioned in this sequel are the only guide to getting to secret warsSo an extra setup for that clearing the way to the end of The Multiverse Saga is a must.

November 7, 2025: Avengers: Secret Wars (confirmed)

avengers-secret-wars.jpg

It happens. The thing Anthony and Joe Russo have been campaigning to direct for years (and apparently never will) that Marvel fans have suspected is officially on the way and concluding The Multiverse Saga. It looks like Avengers: Secret Wars will benefit from the Jonathan Hickman-drafted reboot, which brought together several different terrestrial planets/timelines/universes into one, all-new battle world.

After the brutal success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, there will almost certainly be an expectation from fans for many more multiverse appearances in Secret Wars. So what does this mean? Hugh Jackman Wolverine? Nicholas Cage’s Ghost Rider? Council of Reds composed of all the Red Richards that appears on screen? Wesley Snipes Blade? The sky is the limit and the best part is that any of it can happen.

Details are lacking about Secret Wars at this time, other than that it’s targeting a different director than Destin Daniel Cretton, who will take charge of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Given the release schedule of these two films with a six-month break, it makes sense why they would need two directors, but with the potential to pick a rival cast, Avengers: Endgame Marvel Studios would need someone who could land a big plane. No pressure.
